REPORT ON FOUNDERS DAY.

St. Joseph College celebrated Founders Day with deep reverence to honour our founder, ‘Blessed Edmund Rice’, remembering his life of service and dedication to education.

The day began with a special morning mass at the school chapel. A prayer meet was held to seek blessings and remember Blessed Edmund Rice. It was attended by the Christian Brothers, teachers, and students. The choir, led by our music teacher Mr. Pralove Roy, sang devotional hymns during the service, creating a peaceful and prayerful atmosphere.

After the mass, the programme continued in the school auditorium with the lighting of the lamp. The lamp was lit by our Principal, Brother Sebastian George, along with the coordinators and the Head Boy. This symbolized the light of knowledge passed on to us by Edmund Rice.

The anchor delivered an inspiring speech on the life and mission of Blessed Edmund Rice, highlighting how he devoted his life to educating poor and underprivileged children.

The school choir, once again guided by Mr. Pralove Roy, presented hymns that reflected the values of faith, compassion, and service taught by our founder.

Students performed a meaningful skit showing key moments from Edmund Rice’s life, helping everyone understand his struggles and his commitment to education.

A Power Point presentation with rare photos and milestones from his journey was shown, making his legacy come alive for all

The programme concluded with a motivating speech by our Principal, Brother Sebastian George. He encouraged all students to follow Edmund Rice’s motto “Deeds not Words” and to live lives of honesty and service.

The Founders Day celebration was a fitting tribute to Blessed Edmund Rice and left everyone inspired to uphold his values.
