English Language Activity for class 5A, was conducted on 9th,May on the topic homophones, under the guidance of subject teacher Mrs Meeta Sah. The students were divided into a total of ten groups, with three to four students in each group. Each group received a specific homophone pair. They had to draw the homophones pair given to them and then speak one sentence related to the picture drawn. Moving a word from a passive list into a visual representation deeply expanded vocabulary foundation. It also created an image (e.g., drawing a flower vs. baking flour) providing a distinct mental reference point.
Group activity fostered cooperative learning and teamwork. Using art integration technique made it enjoyable, stress free and creative exercise. Listening to classmates present multiple pairs of homophones reinforced the concept across the room. Students learned to separate identical sounds by their functional context and distinct spellings.
Junior Wing Coordinator, Mrs. Sulakshana Sah, judged the activity and offered her congratulations to the winners. She also appreciated each team's effort. Following groups secured the positions.
